Radeon in 2026: Prices and Shortages

So, today’s agenda is Radeon from AMD and what will happen to them in 2026. According to AMD representatives, they have strong relationships with video memory suppliers, which allows them to guarantee that there will be no shortage of AMD video cards on the market. However, they do not rule out price increases, stating that they will almost certainly rise but within reasonable limits.

This conversation took place at CES 2026 and was addressed by David McAfee, Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Client Processor and Radeon division. He also mentioned that prices will rise because AMD is interested in maintaining a competitive price-to-performance ratio for its video cards against the backdrop of overall price increases.

We have already published numerous articles about price increases for memory and virtually all computer components. Currently, in the hardware sphere—and likely for the next six months—this will remain an extremely relevant topic. This is because, for most memory chip manufacturers, more expensive and profitable server memory is more advantageous than consumer memory. Consequently, prices are rising for everything, from processors and RAM to video cards.

All of this is happening against the backdrop of NVIDIA not introducing significant innovations into its consumer video cards, which remain extremely expensive, while mainly focusing on server video cards like the A200 and AI accelerators such as Rubin. For example the best GPU Radeon now is Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16 GB GDDR6

Here’s what McAfee said: “As we look at it, we’ve got very long-term deep partnerships with all of the DRAM manufacturers to make sure that our needs are met in terms of DRAM supply for our [Radeon] GPUs, to make sure that we’re building what gamers need.”

He also added: “From that point of view, I’m not concerned that current constraints will lead to a shortage of GPUs in the market. I think we’ve got long enough, deep enough, and strategic enough partnerships, and that’s a critical problem that we’re working with those partners day in and day out.”
